im going to fit a mg metro engine (from late 1980s) into a 1992 sprite.
it could be really simple and im just over thinking it. could somebody point me in the right direction about the hoses i need please?
it will use the thermostat housing, sandwich plate and inline heater valve from the 92 mini.
if it helps to know the heater pipes come out of the bulkhead on the radiator side. no pipe take off
at clutch end of cylinder head.
i want to use the metros hif44 and heated inlet, plumbed in.
this is the hose fitted to the 92 sprite, need to replace it anyway as its split

is this the one i need?

Your links aren't working for me (probably due to Minispares site being down). But if it's of any help, I've just transplanted an 86 MG metro engine into my 93 Rover Sprite, retaining the sprite thermostat housing & sandwich plate and I just used all the existing hoses from my Sprite.
EDIT: OK links are working now..... and there is another issue here. The GRH1289 bottom hose for the Sprite & other HIF 38 carb models that you have is now obsolete, I tried for months to get hold of one, but they are no longer in production. There seems to be a misprint on the minispares website that says that the GRH1289 hose IS available at the moment, which it ISNT and is also why the description then goes on to explain how you can use a standard bottom hose instead. Minisport will put it on back order for you, but they can't get hold of one and nor can Somerford, I even went directly to the hose manufacturer and was told that there was not enough demand for them to produce another batch.
Using the GRH1159 hose (designed for the carb coopers) as an alternative is one option, but it has an extra take off for a heated inlet manifold, so this will only be of any use if you intend to make use of that extra take off. The other option which I chose was to use a GRH240 standard bottom hose and use a 1/2" to 5/8" adaptor/reducer http://www.minispare...06.aspx|Back to and a short length of heater hose to join the heater take off to your slightly larger 5/8" heater circuit.
Since fitting the standard bottom hose, I've now managed to source a used Sprite GRH1289 bottom hose that's in reasonable condition (which was like trying to find rocking horse poo!!) I don't actually need it now though as I'm sticking with the standard bottom hose and adapter, I also have a spare minispares 1/2" to 5/8" adaptor/reducer if you're interested in either of these?
