fan belt keeps snapping!

this is for my brothers mini,originlly the fan belt snapped and a new one was put on but within a cuople of months the new one had snapped any ideas on why,i believe it was at the right tension.

you checked the pullys for shards caught in them that may be ripping fron the inside? or the fan for bits catching on it, or the clerance alll the way round to see if its rubbing anywhere?!

i'll have a look,but it was put on at a garage so should they of checked for things like this because it went to the same garage as mine did to have the fan belt done and mine is perfect,any more info would be appreciated

check all of the above and never asume that garages check for this type of stuff! i know from past experiences that they do not! :w00t:

Fan belt failure is generally to do with poor quality belts or the belt being too tight. Make sure you get the right belt for the model ( as there are differences ) as for makes, I've used Halfords ones for years and never had one fail.

Also make sure the pulleys are all inline ( a straight edge helps )
