My son wants to change the colour of his mini from red to black. will this make a big difference on insurance its not going to add value to the car as such because its going to be a diy spray job so we are not going to declared extra value to the car ?

just thought i would see what people say before we go buying lots of spray paint

You'll be fine mate, I can't see why it would be a problem!
Unless you were going for a chrome vinyl rap jobbie!

the reason i asked on here is to hear from people that may of been in the same boat before.. yes i could ring one or two companies but not every insurance company is the same..

It makes the car non-standard, and possibly more appealing so may push the premium up
