Machine Mart 1.4 set ups are great, suction fed for celly, I use one for primer, one for top coat, and a small touch up/small part gun from eBay.

Fastmovers are good for about £20 i got a 1.8 setup from a local paintshop for spraying primers, not sure how well a 25ltr would cope?

what you thinking of spraying pal? its just if your thinking about anything big your going to struggle as your cfm on a compressor that small will be low!

as for a spray gun you are best going for a hvlp gun that high volume low pressure and they range from about £25 up machine mart do a really good one

Hi buddy, it's a total respray. Did wonder if my comp would be up to it.
Devilbiss do a hvlp gun that supposedly runs about 4.5 cfm
Designed for small compressors, it's £60. Don't know if it's any good tho so thought I would see what others use.

Hi, I have been after a decent gun for a while and have been reading and getting loads of advice from various sources. Obviously what your compressor can deliver is the major deciding factor, but I was put off that devilbliss gun by all the pro's I spoke to. They reckoned it was a poor example and they don't even make spares for it. I was advised to go after a secondhand one of the older JGA models or preferably a GTI. You need to so a few Internet searches on that model and I came up with some poor feedback mate,
I keep an eye on eBay for a while and eventually landed a virtually unused devilbiss GTI for £88 . These are rated as one of the better guns although it would need a decent compressor. If your only going to use it once or twice and just for cellulose one of the cheaper guns mentioned will work fine as cellulose is quiet forgiving and you can get the finish by hard work afterwards. I use a cheaper gun for the priming work and models from clarke, sealey and fast mover work well.
Hope this helps as it me months of research to get some straight answers from suppliers and the best advice I got was from folks on the forums who have home set ups like us. Don't forget to budget for a decent filter/regulator, bought mine from machine mart and I works well. Water is your big enemy with any compressor but especially if you have a small one working it's nuts off. Just my opinions from my own searches others will have different views but I suppose it's like most tools the cheaper they are the shorter the life and the harder you end up working, from my experience !!
Cheers Glyn

Thanks glyn, great advise. May swing towards a bigger compressor as that seems to widen my gun choice.

I used this one for mine, after spotting an article in Practical Classics on budget spray guns and used it for celly.

Can also get a 1.5 set up for it as well for about a tenner.

just something to have a think about, its not actually the CFM that affects the air coming out but free air that is able to be displaced, the cfm of the compressor is the amount it is able to produce, and the cfm of the tool is what it needs to run.. so maybe look at free air to cfm :)
