Have we got one?
reason i ask is apart from the force racing wheels the 6x10's are as wide as you can get for 10" wheels, is this true? offset wise compared to a set of 13x7's are there any 6x10's that exist, which have a bigger offset and therefore appear wider than the 13's?
and its also quite hard to know what arches would fit well :P

i love the mexico arches but i think my 10" wheels are wayyy to small for them so im going to try and get some made for 10" wheels :)

thanks again!

if the car is for road use be careful of the offset

in my experience 5" rim is the best for our english roads

to much offset can make the car unpleasent to drive

in comparison to the 5"

differernt if for track use

well i would like to make a list of what wheels stick out more than others and i dont mean someone saying wellers stick out more than this....im talking measuring how far from the body work they stick out as we done have anything like that i dont :)
the 6x10's i have on mine i love driving with them, i agree 5" are the most pleasant to drive with around in the coutryside but i like the smoother ride you get with wider tryes :) around town at 30 :)

if it helps when i made enquiry about 6" x 12 they all seem to stick out another

35 - 40 mm than the ultralite 5" they dont seem to do one retaining the same inner offset

as the ultralte 5" and just putting 25 mm on the outsde

i know there not the widest, but i meant on the 'normal' off the shelf ones, but seen as force racing wheels force racing wheels were mentioned in the original post and now we might as well just do a list all wheels of all makes and sizes :P

so how wide did the ultralite 5" and 6"x12 stick out from the body work as we can start the list of with that :)

looks like the ultalite 5" sticks out about 1" - 1.1/4

the ultralite 5.5 sticks out about 2 - 2.1/4

the 6" would be around 2.3/4 - 3"

anyway thats my reckoning

unfortunatly they put to much on the outside for me

trying to make it look racey, which can unstable the car

Not sure of the off-set numbers......
These are 6x10 Mercury wheels with 1" spacered drums and discs up front.
They stick out beyond the standard arches.....just a wee bit.

Sorry to resurrect an old-ish thread, I have a set of 10x5" Mambas (offset 0) and am trying to work out if I'm better to either a) buy new wheels with a positive offset or b) buy new arches.

My question is, do you have any issues with scrubbing the tyres with the above set-up? My Mambas sit very similarly (on the rear, haven't got the fronts sorted yet).

I would prefer to keep the Mambas if I can but it's not legal for any tread to not be covered by bodywork (from above). I have someone who is willing to buy my Mambas but I will lose about the same as buying new arches either way so if I don't need to modify the inner arches at all for the Mambas then I may just find the right arches for the job.

And yes, it was stupid to get my arches sorted before having my wheels, unfortunately that was the way the timing fitted with my mate who painted and fitted them.

I'd make sure you get the front brakes sorted first, as mamba's are notorious for not fitting over any disk setup, some have done but I think that's the exception to the rule, you may need spacers to get the mamba's to fit. They were designed to go over drum brakes, hence the offset.

My tyres to not rub on anything at all in the above picture....and I slalom this car.
I have a set of 6" Mambas on my PUP....I just have 1/8" spacers to clear the backplates...but no arches needed !

you can 10 x 6 genuine minilite with an offset of - 15, which gives you 21mm more inner clearance and 5mm less "stickyoutness"
