As you may know, ill be gettin a new hu soon, which ive already decided.

What are the best speakers to go for at a reasonable price?

Im after good sound quality and bass.

im considering getting them for under the rear seats and if funds allow on the rear shelf too.

i have found some pioneer speakers i would like for £40.

but it would help me what you fellow mini owners think.

If your on about gettin a sub then you wont need these, get some components instead as the sub will provide the bass you need. with the 6x9's you lose a lot of SQ due to the oval shape, and its only oval to give extra bass (pointless if you have a sub). Think wisely b4 you decide what to do, and another thing, dont touch owt that says XPLOD on it

I personally would NEVER buy 6x9s they dont do anything other speakers cannot do.... and as for make it does depend on how much cash u got etc..... i would go for orion, fusion or Focal

you lot must be loaded, i would say value for money Alpine are good, so are infinaty, nufin wrong with 6x9s when they are powerd from a amp, head unit can't power jackall need amps people big amps and biger power caps.

I voted for Alpine, I'm a big fan. However, on a budget, Infinity are excellent quality, and look really sweet. Fusion rock, but are a bit pricey. Kenwood is supposed to be really good, but they look really 1337, or macho, not really suited to the pleasant lines of a Mini. Oh, and avoid Sony stuff like the plague, I've heard nothing but bad things.

As for head units, you can't beat Alpine for good all round performance. Even budget models are specced up.

Avoid those under the rear seat speaker boards.

Do you drive with your head under the front seat ?

When I was in halfords the other day with my mates we were doing the normal mucking around with the speaker test panel thing. JBL were definately the best quality. Others will say that infinity are better but they sound more tinny and cheap ocmpared to JBL's. Thats what I thought anyway.
