Basically wipers work on both settings but once there on they stay on

I have to stop them by holding the stalk downwards and they wipe the windscreen seal at the bottom aswell?

So I've seem something about a park switch before? Where can I find this on my car if it is that??? Cheers

It's fitted to the back of the wiper motor next to the bulk head

if they're wiping the windscreen seal then just take them off and reposition them so when its in the "parked" position it will be a little bit away from the seal, be it at the bottom or side.

Wiper park switches are odd things, you will find it plugged into the back of the wiper motor. You have to unstrap the motor to see it, it looks like a little white box with a grey plug the other end of it.
Its easier to replace the whole switch rather than try and open it, pull the grey plug off then you have to slide the white box part down the motor housing (you will know what i mean when you've done it) Then just replace with a new unit :)

They can overheat and melt so you may need to replace the grey plug too, they are such a silly design!

Best to take the wipers off the screen anyway then undo the nut on the end of the motor
Disconnect the wires and draw the motor and flexible wiper drive cable out
the switch is on the back of the motor
Should only take about 10 - 15 minutes to sort from start to finish and then sit back with a satisfied
grin on your face and say "i fixed that" lol

Before you refit the switch check your connectors as well as they have a habit of corroding.
