Negative camber doesn't really get you lower. You can tub the rear arches which helps get it low but that is a chunk of welding work. You need lowered shocks as well if you're planning on going really low otherwise the donuts will dislodge when you go over bumps etc.

The limits are the bumpstops really. Once your sitting on the bumpstops you'll have no suspension travel, a solid ride and will be pushing the limits of the balljoints.

If you're too low at the front, the top balljoint sits at such an angle, it starts wearing away the cup that holds it. The end result is breakage, and we all know how dangerous that is >_<
Anyone running very low should keep an eye on this, it is very important!

i had my bump stops just touching so trimmed about 5mm so there is clearance i also have custom made top shock mounts to gain travel on the shock if it sits on the stops it will be a bumpy ride

This has got the front Hi Los wound down as far as they will go and reasonably (3/4 years) new cones. It's just off the bump stops with standard height GAZ damper all round.

Hi-Lo's are low enough in my opinion. I can't wind mine all the way down as it slams sh!t out of the arches.
Here's mine, I've highered it a bit since this photo as the arches took a battering. I also can't put anyone in the back as it rubs

My car is tubbed. With 12s it was lower, but with 13s I had to raise it a little due to then extra width clobbering guards when turning on bumps. Pretty low tho and a good compromise for engine and exhaust clearance.

Ok so for me adams photo is perfectly fine in terms of how low, i just dont want that 3 inch gap on the back between the wheel and arch .. Could I just confirm though when you say the arch do you mean the arch on the outside that covers the wheel or are you talking about a actuall metal bit on the body? .. So I was thinking if I was too lower it as my as in adams pic would Hi lows, and some lowered shock absorbers(when i get my mini) be enough, is there anything else I should replace/upgrade?
Thanks

The arch on the outside I was talking about. However, I did have to trim the body a little bit to ensure the wheels don't rub
