hey i have this ultimate engine steady which I am fitting to my 998 in my 1989 mayfair.
But the issue I am having is that the holes dont match up to the bolts on the bulk head, only buy about a couple of mm though. has anyone had this? would just drilling out the holes abit more be alright to make it fit ok? i do have a pic but wont let me upload it :/
also has anyone found the need to drill a fourth hole in the bulk head for another bolt? bearing in mind this is a road car not a track.
Thanks
Ben

I'll guess it's intended for a 1275, where the thermostat bolts are at a different angle, the engine's also a bit taller than a small bore.
Piccies a plenty here: http://www.ebay.co.u...e bar&_osacat=0

its not the holes for the thermostat housing, its the holes for the bolts on the bulk head which do not fit but only just. a picture would make that clearer sorry ive been trying to put one up.
But thanks.

The holes at one end will determine how the holes at the other end line up - but it will be obvious which type you have, see the Ebay search above.

its the correct type for the engine and car thanks.... the only problem is that the holes for the bulk head bolts dont align but a couple of mm... and i wanted to know if this was a common problem and if has been gotten around by extending the holes by a mm or 2.

Not all ultimate engine steadies are equal.
Some (from reputable suppliers) pop straight on with no hassle or grief, others (from less well spoken of suppliers) are a total waste of time unless you have plenty of valium and knuckle plasters.

sell it on
they clog up the engine bay and get in the way eveytime you want to done anything on that side of the engine
get some decent poly bushes for the LH steady mount and get some of the lower gearbox engine mounts which bolt back to the subframe, they will hold it nice and soild
much neater and easier to fit,
i been there and done it
sorry for being a moaner
