Is there anything out of the ordinary?
New to Mini (or anything older than year 2000), worried that something isn't like newer cars (like engine and tranny oil being shared).
Engine is out of the car but still on the subframe.
Is it as simple as remove arms > hammer (lightly tap) out driveshaft > replace oil seal?

How To Change Driveshaft And Shifter Oil Seal?

you still have to undo top and bot ball joints and release them then the whole disc ass can be removed as for the pot joint you need 2 large blade screwdrivers and 1 each side lever it out ....(you may need to replace c-clip on end) then you can gain access to oil seal......a tip for gear shift seal is to put 2 new one's back..............

Shifter seal is easy, just remove the pin and disconnect the shaft(if still connected). Now you can remove the old seal and then hammer the new seal in with a small socket the same size.
Driveshaft you can remove by breaking the ball joints, and removing the hub nut, pop the pot joint off the diff case with a crow bar.
