Does anyone know how to remove excess DumDum putty from windscreen rubber surfaces? I've managed to scrape some of it off but some areas are hard to remove and other areas are just leaving a streaky marks.
Would White spirit/Meths/Petrol or something else be suitable (without damaging the rubber and neighbouring paint surface)?
(It's Eldro DumDum.)

I can remember using white spirit sparingly to remove this stuff a few years back.
White spirit won't ruin your paint or windscreen rubber, however if you inadvertantly get it on the windscreen rubber it will wipe off with a cloth and actually make the rubber look cleaner, although I wouldn't recommend using it for this!!
Any white spirit on your screen is easily removed with any glass cleaner afterwards!
