Can anyone tell me exactly where the oil pressure switch is on my 98' cooper,
i.e. - is it on the right or left hand side as you face the engine of the oil filter, (have'nt invested in Haynes book of how 2 do things the long way round yet!)

Oil pressure switch is to the right of the oil filter. The oil temperature sensor is to the left with the oil pressure relief valve below it.

Thanx MS
Just done it,
though i did have to remove the alternator as it was stopping me getting my 24mm spanner 2 it! but it has'nt made the pressure gauge start work'n, so i'll now change the temp sensor and see where that goes!

It's a pressure switch not a pressure sender, it runs the light on the dash not a gauge. The optional oil gauge on the dash of MPi Mini's is oil temp rather than pressure and it runs by the oil temp sender that is screwed into the large additional oil pressure release type port in the block.

Now realise that its not an oil pressure gauge but a temp gauge!
so i've changed the temp sensor & still no movement on the gauge, is it wise to change the pressure relief valve as well?
