Third Party Fire and Theft, this would have been my third year with the company.
All mods declared, wheels, suspension etc etc
Agreed Value

Payed £900 the first year
Just over £700 hundred the second

Now they want £1200!

I know the company or companies they are linked with have changed policy but c'mon!

Yeah that's lame. Go with someone like Graham Sykes Insurance they are very reasonable.

£1400 for a fully customised B18 vtec mini - I have 0 no claims and am 22

Reminds me of my first insurance on the mini, just under £900 as I was 19, with 1 years ncb. The second year, 20 with 2 years ncb, they wanted over £2000, haha yeah right.
Some companies have to do this as they offer loads of cheap insurance one year, lose out because of it, then need to ramp their premiums up to make the money back.
Well at least that's why I think they do it.

Suppose they just rely on people not bothering to shop around and paying over the odds.

Il ring them up when im back from Goodwood and my Sunny Holidays and talk to a real person as bungle suggested.

Their offices are only a few miles from where i live so might be worth popping in and talking to face to face, flutter my eye lashes, wear a low cut top....

Anyway but yeah, i knew it was going to be pricey when i watch the letter thump on the floor through the letter box.

Insurance Tax and MOT all in the same month is a right pain in the wallet.

Try getting insured fully comp instead not you've got a few years no claims, It'll probably be cheaper.

Last year they said to me that if i wanted fully comp (which i do) i should expect to pay roughly double my TPFT quote with them.

With them maybe, but try shopping around. Aviva gave me a good deal.

Dont know how old you are but i went through a broker company called "only young drivers" insure up to 25 years.

I pay monthly (which makes it more expensive) and mine is just over £800 for the year with 1 yrs NCB. And the company im insured with are AGIAS who are really reputable (according to my gf who used to be an insurance manager).

Also with the horror stories iv been told (via the insurance gf) I would never touch AVIVA with a barge pole!!!!

Well I dont know from personal experience but iv heard of more than one instance such as people paying their full years premium then getting pulled over by the police between 7-12 months later for no insurance (and still getting the points and vehicle seized) because AVIVA havent set up the policy still that far down the line...

Or other similar ones like someone having their first year go fine, then being sent an automatic renewal letter for their renewal date, having their premium taken and nothing being renewed.... So again the police pulling them over and seizing the car (as standard practice) because of people not setting up accounts.

And thats just a couple I can remember, I got told quite a few. :/

I reckon 9/10 times youll be safe but I wouldnt after the ones I got told.

Thats fair enough but I think I'll just hope that nothing like that happens to me as I'm not in any position to change insurers especially if they are going to charge me more.
