My clutch has no 'feel to it' and won't engage. Had to have the brakedown man come pick me and the car up to get me home :(

When I push the clutch pedal down, it leaks clutch fluid onto the floor under the car, what are the chances this is coming from the Clutch Slave Cylinder?

Got to drive the Mini to the airport on Monday so hoping to have her fixed by then! :)

Pretty high. As the clutch wears the piston moves further & further down the cylinder, quite often the cylinder is corroded at the open end 'n the seal leaks when it encounters the rust. A good botch is to add some packing to the end of the push rod to move the piston back down the cylinder bore.

minispares do a repair kit, and if you follow the haynes manual its a nice easy job to do. :)

New cylinders aren't that expensive, and if you have a rusty bore, maybe a far better option.
If you do have a risty bore, and don't want to go to the expense of a new cylinder, when you change the kit, clean the rust off with some fine emery paper and some wd40. Clean it all up before fitting the seal kit.

Thanks for all your replies, I don't really have time to order anything in, so I'll have to try and source the parts locally (as I need the car for Monday :) )

Will either of these fit? my car is a 1981 1000 and these kits are under 'rover mini's' at rimmer brothers, worth a shot? :)

Those are for the master cylinder. You'll need to look for slave cylinder.

They are both master cylinder kits, try your local motor factors. Peel back the rubber dust cover on the slave, it'll be wet with fluid on the inside if it's leaking that badly.

Pre Verto has a fluid seal that's a disc, no hole in the middle like the Verto's

Went to rimmer brothers yesterday and got meself a pre-verto kit, took the old seal out and it's split right down the middle :ohno:
replaced it with a new seal, put it back together, put new fluid in, bled the clutch and it's good as new :D
Thanks guys :D
