Anyone notice the numberplate mistake? mk1s finished in Aug67 G reg didnt begin until Aug68,it is hardly likely that 3 mk1 coopers hung around unsold for a year.

Didn't British Leyland only provide them with old cars? Not seeing the advertising potential of this film.

The makers approached the manufacturers and asked for lots of minis. They said no. I believe they got three cars at cost price and the rest normal. Fiat offered lots of free 500s and a Ferrari but the film producers said no. That film was some of the best advertising for the mini.

Anyway, as for the plates, they all had a meaning. The G suffix one was Charlie Croker's prison number I believe, hence HMP at the start. I ant remember off the top of my head what they all meant.

I also have it on Blu Ray, DVD and on my laptop >_<.

I read somewhere they chucked the aston martin off the cliff but the director wasn't happy with the shot, so they did a lancia up to look like an aston to film and filmed it again

the LGW plate stood for london gatwick

They were. The guy that did the restorations bought three random cars. He bought the plates desperately at quite a price I believe. One of the magazines covered the rebuilds.
