1966 mini with hydrolastic. full renovation in progress(slowly)- have bought some plastic hydro pipes on ebay. The front subframe is out- then i checked the pipe for length. The pipes are too long by approx 18inches (0.5m.).

The pipe seems to be a thermo setting plastic, with a single flare at the union ends. is it possible to cut and reform the flares of ther pipe? Other possibilities is to have a loop in the system(not my fav soloution), or to have the steel pipes replaced with new ones.
Comments are welcomed.

If you are doing a full restoration then would strongly recommend fitting the replacement copper/kunifer hydrolastic pipes that you can get from Minispares or similar.

Plastic pipes were used as a quick fix when the original steel pipes rusted through, as they could be fitted without needing to drop the subframes.
