:'(
Here are some pictures of me (in red), my brother (in black) and my first Mini.
A 1990 City called Nudje.

I rescued Him from a student who had left him abandoned for over a year in the street. The car was in great nick actually ( this was July 2002) having done just 27k and 2 owners. I persueded the student that the car was a totall wreck and that it was going to cost him a lot to get it removed, so he'd best sign over the V5 and give me the car!

And he did! (silly bugger)

One windscreen wiper blade later and we had an MOT!

I then put on some minilites and the usual stripes, chrome and stage 1 and enjoyed mini motoring for a while.

Then in Jan 2003 I was up in the dales and i had an argument with a bend that ended up in us comming to blows with a dry stone wall (ouch!).

Nudje landed on her side and although all ocupents were luckilly ok (me n my mate Joe), my beautifull mini was not so good (as you can see).

The worst part is that i actually scrapped the car!

'I wish that i knew what i know now, when i was younger' As they say.. I culd easily fix that damage if i did it now. aah well, You live and learn.

Al

bummer! i also did similar damage to my old clubman when I also made friends with a drystone wall! Luckily I glanced off it and the car was still driveable as I was in Ireland at the time!

I did the same not long ago, came round a corner and there was a fu**ing Nova reversing towards me on a single track, skidded and landed in a ditch, similar kind of damage to the front and it had pushed the subframe back into the floor. getting fixed nw though :D

Thats the straight aftrer the bend. I managed to steer out of the rear ender but after the slide i was still pointing at the wall!

Most of the wall landed in the field though so we picked it up and put it back.

I think that is realy classed as a write off, too much work for it to be worth rebuilding and repairing. IMHO

If i did this to my current mini (heaven forbid!) I reckon I now have the skills to replace the whole twisted front-end (probobly). I don't know about the deformed bulkhead where the engine hit it though?

Plus the footwells were all pushed up from the sumframe moving back.

So actually it might have been a profesional repair job if i had kept it!

oh, and the roof and B post were all bent from the side impact with the floor and the cill was crushed.
Bit of a mess then  !

Still. When i say 'scrapped' i do mean that Mr angle grinder and I recycled every part (see picture). I sold most of the mechanicals and weighed in what was left. There's still a Lad in my neighbourhood driving around with my original engine!
