
Water Loss

Hi can any one help .
loosing water quite quickly over a 10mile run, rad is belowe cores. replaced head gasket.water pump radiator.and rad cap. checked for leaks when hot and running only sign is some around bottom of overflow pipe.but not a rad full.

Have you bled the air out of the system?

You MUST find out where the water is going - or it's just a guessing game for us. Run the engine at a fast idle - and see where water dribbles out! You MUST retorque the head after the first heat cycle.

with engine hot and running if i lay under car it drips from the overflow pipe. which points to rad cap. but 3 rad caps later no change.

hi all head gasget gone blown between 2 and 3 cylinders. got new one but which way up dose it go. its a b.g.a. make is it tin side down or up.

Check behind and around the water pump, maybe a loose jubilee...

check its not leaking out of the side of the water pump too, sometimes these don't leak till the cars been sitting for a while.

hi all put on new head gasket. tin side down (phoned B.G.A.) re torqed after first run. touch wood no leaks yet
