just want to know if there is a way to get an automatic choke like on moden cars dont have manual choke
I have a austin mini MG metro turbo engine

you could try and put one on off another car, but this could be lethal, ie revving itself!!!!! manual choke is good because at least you decide when it goes on and off!!!!! unless you own my van!!! thats got a mind of its own!!!!

modern cars don't have "chokes" as such. They have devices which control the amount of air that get to the throttle body (which I suppose is a sort of choke....), and clever ECUs that rely on temp sensors.
On carb cars, auto chokes are notoriously unreliable. The Holley I had on the TR8 had an autochoke for about 5 minute before I dumped it!
However, I *think* that old Jags (on SUs) had auto chokes, so If you wanted to fit one, you could. However, I've never seen it done.
IMHO, stick with the cable.

you can get an HIF44 with automatic choke, I think it was fitted to some Maestro's and other late 80's cars....
But I very much doubt it would work with a turbo anyway, which is a bugger.

As has been said above, I think the Maestro and late Metros had electronics on the HIF44, but its the ECU (which the mini doesn't have) which takes readings from the various sensors around the engine (which the mini doesn't have), and decides on where the 'choke' should be and regulates the fueling.
All in all, it would be very hard to retro fit.
