hi can any one tell me how easy or hard it is to change an automatic engine and gear box in a 1984 mini mayfair. the reason for change is i can not use drive only 1,2,3, gears plus loosing oil.

In principle; it's a doddle.
Unplug everything running to the engine and the mounts, lift the engine out. Drop the new one in, do everything back up.
In practice, don't expect it to be anywhere near that straight forward. Get a hoist or a strong mate to lift the engine, make sure you have some spare nuts and bolts, give yourself 2 days to do it - it shouldn't take that long by far but if you're not under a time constraint you'll not feel stressed to get it done and rush.
I imagine someone who's done it a few times could write you a 'how to' to follow.
The only thing I would say is, how well do you know the engine you're putting in, f it's another auto?
