Sub Frame Strip And Re Paint

In past couple of weeks have bought a 1991cooper for my son and I to rebuild. first job is to remove the sub frames. Being a newbe to rebuilds can someone please advise best approach to strip and what to coat them with before putting back on the car.

I had mine blasted back to bare metal and then painted them with http://www.frost.co....lack-paint.html

Did an electrolysis strip of the crud and rust (see internet) wire wheel to clean up and primed and hammerite. Came out fine, afterall it's a subframe not the seen bodywork and if you are not going concours then just painted will do to protect it.

yours looks mintt, i just did mine, but went down the steam cleen because thats all i had avalable,the flapper disked and wire brushed, seam welded and painted :)

i think enlarging the drive shaft holes while your doing it is a good shout so they fit thru if u need to change them :)
