Minis back from garrage today after fitting a center exit exhaust, however the mechanic told me this was near impossible because of what the car is:
Ready?
1989 flame, exhaust would fit fine I thought...
1970's metro engine
Cooper s gearbox
And an early remote gear change...
As you can guess fitting a magic pipe to the manifold was near imposible and the mechanic did a lot of bendibg to get it in.
Does anyone else gave anything similar to this or any ideas how to make the car so I can actually change gears which would be a good idea ( its usable but very ropey)
What's yours like?

A lot of fitting problems with fitting aftermarket exhaust can be traced back to poor build quality. What brand is it?
Also still having it on a standard exhaust manifold wont have helped as you're adding more joints in to the system by using a magic pipe.

I can tell you it does have a metro engine, the previous owner sold the car with a scrap book of its rebuild, the mechanic said what year the engine was, obviously I didn't think it over and thanks for the caring reply. And yes, the exhaust is basically the cheapest out there, a sportex rally... Good for now though I suppose.
