aahh thanks very much, tells the dimensions as well
now have that all on, all bolts ready to go one, but have come across another problem. i put the engine plate on, then the camshaft retaining plate. then i started to fit the timing gears. i have found that the camshaft pulley goes on so far but then fouls on the bolts that hold the camshaft in. am i missing something??
also, there is a fair bit of lateral movement in the camshaft. normal, i cant see anything that would stop it..

Something wrong with the bolts - or the cam sprocket. It should slide on and pull the cam forward - thus controlling the end float, long before it fouls the bolt heads.

back to the engine for a bit of figuring. also, does the cam just sit against the retainer plate? is there no bearing face to sit between, or does it just rely on oil?
thanks :)
thanks :)

just slid it back on, and pulled it up tighter, and as you said, it got rid of any lateral movement. i have now hit more problems... when i do it up more, it still fouls on the bolts! also, when i nip it up, it locks the cam out completly.. must be having a bad day...
