Well I have had a LOT of questions on my headlights and how I made them. I will preface this by saying that I DO NOT recommend putting HID bulbs in a standard halogen housing. For the very reason that you don't drive a bulldozer down the road. It's not the proper equipment and it's dangerous. Mine don't have auto level, but on the Mini it is already lower than most people's eye level, and aiming them lower with the cutoff line means there is never a chance of blinding traffic unless you hit a bump. But Autolevelers won't even stop that.

Here's some hilights of my project, but if you want to see the entire build, visit this link.

This is the "Ebay Projectors" which are absolute garbage next to the Acura TL projectors in the same housing.

So in short, they're a bad idea! Looks like I better get used to not seeing in the dark! :)

No, he says putting HID in reflector housings is a bad idea.  HIDs in a projector housing, much better.

So cool and well executed!!!  Very tempting to do this to my headlights as I have a couple of spare flat fronted lights sitting doing nothing.......

But unfortunately still not within the letter of the UK law as you need lens cleaners and self levelling actuation. Any self respecting MOT tester should fail them on the spot.

they are also illegal to fit as an after market modification and will fail an MOT regardless or wether they are self leveling and have the cleaners or not
