I have been on about my wheels hitting arches for an age on here, talking about different wheel options and arch options and no one has told me about the subframe spacers hmmm :ohno:

so ive just heard about these subframe spacer shims (i think) from our club owner and they make it possible for you to go on full lock when running none standard wheels and lower.
can someone point me in the right direction where to get some of these from?

thankyou

The only spacers I know of are the ones for converting from auto to manual, but I do live in a cave

The only place I can envisage that would work is the front subframe mount.
By fitting a wider mount / spacer you would effectively flex the wing slightly increasing the space for the wheel.

I noticed this when fitting poly front bushes, which are over double the width of the rubber / solid versions. Perhaps that's what he means?
You could accomplish the same adjustment with thick washers and longer bolts.

But surely spacing the subframe more would be the same as making it slightly higher on the front with the hi lo's or am I just being stupid?

If you spaced the Towers, yes. The front mounts are horizontal.

used to align some front panels

it will slightly help with arch alingment

& for that price I would make my own

Sounds like a bodge to bend your front end to fit wheels, do what rover did and cut and replace the lip.
