ok, so this is how it is, my cars engine mount under the clutch cylinder broke, replaced it, but the problem i am having is, everytime i try and engage a gear i get an allmighty grinding sound, and the entire care shudders but dosnt move, Also the gear stick is incredibly loose, and the car wont engage second gear. I am just wondering if anybody has had this problem and if anybody has any ideas? The sound is not like the sound you get when you try and engage reverese when moving forwards, more aggresive and much louder and the entire car shudders,

You could have a look at the selector mechanism, but it does sound more serious. Is it any better in 4th? That's direct drive & takes the load off a fair bit of the gearbox.
