But unsure on what to do with the carb
Either twin hs4. Or single hiff38

Too vague.Have a search on old posts so you can make your own idea, then report back your questions.
Now i can only say:
- Forget the rollers and fit a camshaft instead.
- Get hold of a good 295 head or even a 940 which should be ok with an MG metro cam (could do with just recessing the exhaust valves).
- By the time you have decided your engine spec, you can evaluate whcih carb to use between HIF44 and twin HS2s.
- A single HIF38 is pointless and twin HS4 are really not the correct choice for a 998, unless you're running a full race spec.

I agree the twin HS4 will be to big for the engine. I would go fot the HS2's they ran great on my 1275.
If you wanted to put roller tip rockers on i would put 1.3 on it insted. i think you would be better off if you put a 295 head on it would keep the engines taque with the twin HS2's. I am not to shore about the cam though.

I don't want to go twin carbs
Just want to stay single carb
My hs4 is looking sad and is very worn
Do it's either hif38 or hif44
