right, i would have 4 point harnesses and would like to fit them with the car to match my cobra bucket seats. i was just thinking how they are fitted and what they attach too and how other people have done it. if you have an advise on your set up or even pics, i would be very thankful

I think you can fit them to the rear seatbelt mounts, ideally they should go to a harness bar though...

To be effective the rear straps need to go out as horizontally straight as they can (as in just below the rear shelf) and mounting points the same distance apart as they are at the seat. Use either proper mounting plates behind or a steel rectangular tube in the boot with captive nuts fitted to spread the load.

Also your bucket seats need bolting to the floor at the rear not just sitting on the carpet. Ideally again a steel plate with captive nut on the underside of the car to bolt to.

Mine are like that. You can get harness bars that work without a rear roll cage too.

it should come with instructions as to the acseptable angles, or they can be found in racing regulations, the top of the parcelshelf isnt strong enough and will need re enforcing, if i were you i would use the if rear seat belt mounts , or if you can weld make yourself a harness bar :)

Mine came with instructions and the manufactures recommended an angle of 45 degrees or as near as possible

This has been discussed a few times. As said as near to horizontal as possible. However anywhere up to 45 degrees is accetable. The general conclusion was that the rear seat belts mounts were about the lowest you should go!

Never use the parcel shelf unless you have reinforced it
