Got the welder out again today and made a start on my cage extras, todays target was to get the rear brace between the 2 rear legs of the cage in for the harnesses to secure to and put the door bars in. It all came together well, just need to treat them to a coat of paint, but there is loads more to come...

i dont mean to sound stupid but on safety devices cage's, arnt the feet meant to have 3 holes and be a fair bit larger? Thats how we get passed scrutineering at racing rather than these people who just knock up a crappy bolt in cage

It is an oldish front half, and it had a plate very badly welded on to give it the extra hole, but i cut it off.

Just out of interest, what is the law for MoT's for seat belt mountings?? As you can see, I've got mine on the bar which I have welded in, but would this be MoT legal?

Today I got up early and beat the living hell out of my back seat with a hammer and chisel, then attacked it with the grinder, theres no point in having a back seat if no one can use it. So now the rear seat and pockets have gone and I've sprayed the new bits of cage too...

Not sure on the weight because I dont have any scales...
I'm thinking about hill climbs, but I will have to get the rule book out and see what the regs are for body mods. Failing that, its gonna be as race prepared as the MoT will allow!
I hope one day to get it featured in one of the mags.

It took less than an hour. I started by using a grinder, but I couldnt get in the corners very well, so I used a sharp chisel and roughly cut everything out then tidied it up with the grinder afterwards.
