I bought a mini and it space with the old shape zeemax body kit and I was wondering if it would be better(when it comes to selling) to rebuild a mini with the body kit or do it more original. Depending on what gets said I will decide and if I choose not to put it on would anyone like to buy it ?

Standard mini's sell a lot easier than highly modified ones, and personally I don't think mini's suit bodykits but everyone to their own, its your car!

It will be easier to sell without the Boykin, as it's an acquired taste.

There is both ways to it, because although I like a good bog standard mini, I haven't put this body kit on it full yet and will do tomorrow and I will put a pic on but, it goes 2 ways when selling, I agree that the less the modification the easier sell however I could catch someone's eye. The upside to not putting it on is that i could sell it and have money to put towards the car.

I will have a good think soon but with. The body kit on, you don't see a lot of them around so..

The Mini is a true classic car and as all classic car enthusiasts know the most valuable ones are those closest to the original and/or fitted with 'period modifications' only.

A lot of resale depends on the market. You'll have diehard classic people and those that want all the bells and whistles. It's simply finding and knowing your market.

What advice would you be giving ? If I must ask ? And you can just type it in on google and all of the pictures will come up

If you bought the mini to flip it, basically fix and resell then no, don't put the kit on and try to keep it as close to origional as possible. Your collectors will pay more, however they are a very demanding crowd. The closer to origional it is the better chance you will have of fetching a good price. If it has a lot of cosmetic and performance changes already, it won't be very appealing to a collector so you may as well trick it out the rest of the way and look towards the tuner or as you guys call it racerboy market.

However if you bought it to enjoy, make it what you want. I've been very reluctant to do any real cosmetic changes to my mini because they are few and far between here. However I finally descided, I'm not getting rid of it any time soon, so I'm gonna make it the way I want it. Once you figure out which way your going to go you'll find it easier to make descisions.

by the way I actually like the Zeemax kit. If I had it my way I'd have one of each. A Zeemax racer and a Classic origional.

So my best bet would be to just put it on because it has had a upgraded carb put on it, the head has been tuned, etc. upgraded shocks and adjustable suspension on the back..... So really there isn't a lot of original left, the seats and all interior (apart from dashboard) need buying. I would like to have 2 different ones aswell, the only reason why I bought it was because I thought I could rebuild it sort of quickish and because it was cheap. Aside from the keeping it original debate, I actually quite like some of the kits. It all depends on the mini. There was a grey Clubman in one of the mags a few years back with a kit on it (I can't remember which one) and it looked great!

Individuality is key. Look at one with it on, and one without. Decide what you like best and go with that. Don't do it because a load of strangers tell you to. My problem is that I like so many different looks and colours, I would need abouot 50 minis to have all the combinations I like.

Yeah, I think I am going to put it on. I will put pictures up with it before it gets sprayed and done up and after its all done. Not too sure when it is getting sprayed because I have to clean up the rust first

i am going to put the body kit on but it needs a bit of work done to it first. the people that have had it before havent treated it very well and snapped some of the fibreglass so i will see if i can get my body worker to sort it out !
