Hello,

My mini has a metro 1275 with a hif44 and it starts....eventually and when it does it revs a lot higher than usual even though the idle speed screw is fully out and the choke isn't on.

I know a little about engines but i don't know what would cause this, i thought maybe the mixture isn't right?

just need a push in the right direction :)

thanks for any comments in advance!

Air leak, check the engine breather pipe thats a favourite.

i noticed theres a nut missing from the exhaust manifold, could that be it?

Hi guys,

i did a bit of fiddling around yesterday and wanted to heat up the engine so i could take it of choke and change the mixture but when i got back after a drive to heat up the engine the middle pipe of my lcb manifold was glowing red because it was so hot, does this point out any other problems?

I know that the engine can run over hot if your timing is out. if you still have run on, this could be the mixture, which in turn can choke up the head too.
My manifold used to glow on my rover turbo.

I re-set the mixture and it died down thankfully!
