i was just thinking is a pick up cheaper than a saloon mini????

well mines on classic car insurance and it is cheaper but its only 998cc and a custom build though

Why because it has less metal? :lol:

If anything it will be more expensive, as pickups are rarer, higher value and certain parts are more expensive.

i'm guessing you're going on the less seats and the fact its commercial?? they're old enough to just have the classic policy so theres probably very little difference

for younger drivers, i believe it works out cheaper. due to the fact that you can only carry one other passenger. but for your standard middle aged driver there probably the same, give or take a few quid

Well put it this way, i restored a pickup at the age of 16/17 and was forced to sell it as nobody would insure me. I tried for days on the phone to everyone I could think of! I then bought a mini 35 which i had no problem insuring at all.

This was part of the issue. The other issue was mine was a 1979, and most main stream insurers (Aviva, Tesco, Direct Line etc) wouldn't insure anything older than 1980.

I assumed it was for less seats,I am hoping to get a post 1980 998cc or 1000i just didn't know if a pickup would be cheaper on insurance...I suppose they are more expensive to buy in the first place though :/
