Hi,
My mini has a 1340 engine with a stage 3 head (don't think it is relevant). When I switch of the ignition it dumps water out of the radiator. There is no overheating as the water stays in until I switch it off.
Has this ever happened to anyone? If so is there a cure for my car's incontinence?

The water in the radiator is expanding due to the increase in temperature. As it is quite hot outside a the minuet the water will stay hotter for longer and as it has expanded it will have to go somewhere.
Check to see if you have enough antifreeze in the system. Antifreeze not only lowers the freezing point it also increases the boiling point. If the boiling point is raised then it will not boil and expand as much.
My astra at the minuet has naff all antifreeze in it due to having a leak somewhere and me topping it up with just water. Every time I stop after a long journey you see a trickle of water from underneath the car.
My mini used to always loose a bit of water during the summer. All you can do really is keep an eye on it. You will probably find that when the weather cools down your mini won't do it.

Bits of the water jacket around the combustion chambers get hotter. When you turn the engine off water stops circulating and localised boiling can occur, the steam ups the pressure. You could try a stronger radiator cap.

I do just keep topping up the water, so I will try the anti-freeze first. Thanks for the advice.

You are probably over-filling it with coolant. It needs to be around 1.5" to 2" below the top of the radiator, not full to the brim when cold. All it is doing is chucking out the excess water. i had it last Friday with an 11.6 litre DAF diesel engine which had been over-filled.

If your cooling system is all in good condition and filled to correct level but your still having problems you could try Redline's Water Wetter. I use it in mine to help cooling and reduce corrosion
