I'm not sure if this is going to make sense but here goes....

What size are the nuts that attach the throttle cable to the carb? One's a locking nut and the other one is like a screw? I know they're smaller than 8mm but what size are they? I have a hif44 carb by the way.

This may seem lazy but I'm at work and there's a tool place near me where i can buy a smaller spanner! I'm guessing at about 6-7mm but a straight answer would be good.

Ta.

An 8mm was too big when I tried yesterday... It can't be 7/16" spanner

but thanks anyway!

You could also buy the correct imperial spanner too...

That looks rather handy! I'm getting me one of those.

They only had 6 or 7mm, no imperial... Luckily it was a 7mm nut.
