If i was to fit/make a non fia approved rollcage - would it increase my insurance even though it did not work? or would they still think it would make me drive like an idiot?

It would increase if you told them and would likely be a lot more dangerous unless you go the whole hog and have bucket seats and wear a helmet all the time.

yes

hitting our head on a steel tube is likely to turn you into a vegetable and the cost of your care for the rest of your life would be high

Unless it's made of plastic or foam it's still a lump of steel to hit your head on, so yes, it will.

unless you go the whole hog, ie full roll cage (approved) with bucket seats and harnesses.its not really worth it especially on a road going car

Everything increases your insurance. Even putting in safer seats...

just to throw a spanner in the works.... Some people have actually found fitting a cage decreased their insurance but its rare.

That will affect insurance too, but at least you wont smash your head if you hit on it.

without the 15mm pipe then ;o)

just 2 piece of insulation against the door pillars ,

2 bits diagonal across each rear 1/4 windows ,

& one diagonal across the back seat

look almost real from outside

sorted ;o)

Not with my insurers! I have 6 mods listed, including removal steering wheel, alloys, spotlights, suspension mods and none of them cost me any more. If your insurance charges for simple things then change insurers.

why would you want to make the inside of the mini even smaller if it's not going to have any purpose?!
