Fantastic forum!!! just getting back into mini's after a brief lul (marriage and kids)
I just brought my 15th mini, a b reg convertible, i have rebuilt 8 cars previously.
Worked for Rover from 1997-1999 as Mini customer service manager moving to production of the Rover 75 from 1999 to april 2000 when production moved to Longbridge and i went back to plumbing and joined the fire service. In 2001 I returned to Cowley building the new mini and became line rectifier on the weekend shift which involved learning every proccess in the trim and final assembly building from taking the doors off the shell as it entered the building to driving the finished product off the end of the line in order to repair any defects which needed attention and have fault free cars rolling out of the doors.... I've never owned a bmw mini and probably never will... its a fantastic product, which is half the problem... its a product no a living breathing car like the classic will always be. i swear that when i went to look at the car i just brought, it smiled, sniffed around my feet, looked at me and said take me home... Its nice to be back in freindly territory and i look foreward to flashing my headlights and waving to you all once i get the mot!!
Remember, Mini's are people too!!!
