So iv wanted my car painting sice the day i got it but as we all know a professional spray job is to say the least expensive? so i was reading around on the forums and i come across 'roller painting' .... so this is literally just painting your car with a roller? as in a roller you would use to paint a room? didnt sound too great at first, i thought to myself how can you get a good finish with a roller? .. but then i saw pictures of minis that have been painted in this way and im pretty impressed!
If i were to do this myself 'seriously considering it' what would i need? any specific roller? what paint? and how many coats? i saw one guy who had to do 8 coats!
also if any of you have roller painted could you up load pictures so i can see what sort of finish you have.

hi i did my car in nato green with 4 coats only cost £30 and used 4 inch foam rollers. its in matte so no polishing needed. couldnt justify spending £500+ on a paint job
when i could spend it on better things ie lights brakes suspension and so on. the car isnt show room but i did it and it runs perfect. not too bothered about shiny paint as like the rat look.

you need 4" gloss rollers, and you can get a really good finish if you put the work in. I've repainted mine with rustoleum, and a full repaint, inside and out inc the engine bay stands me at about £50. I could do with about 1ltr more to redo a few bits, but all in it'll be less than £75
