Couldn't agree more. I found anything thinner than 20/50 would cause a big leanout as mine came on boost if the throttle was fully depressed rapidly when cruising. But a friend actually ran baby oil in his & had good results.
As with a lot of things it's an experiment & what works for one may not work for another.
Phil.
i tried baby oil on mine phil , but came out in rash :-(

Hehehe I love this thread, the point is there is NO one best oil. It is the oil that gives you the correct enrichment on acceleration that matters. This can vary from 3 in 1 to just about any thick grade purely because of wear and production tolerances.
The savvy tuners use the best oil for the job, and that certainly is not 1 grade!
AC
I love this thread too, also because 20w50 means that low temp viscosity is rated 20 while 100° is rated 50 and not the other way round!!!!
20W = 9500cp at -15°
50 = about 20 cst at 100°
Well actualy the SAE rating is much more complex than that, those who wants can have a read here:

In the process of changing to a 45 Weber for a change of induction noise, but nothing wrong with the SU/ATF oil partnership.
Will do a noobie/intro thread with pics soon.
