I have a 1984 auto mini mayfair which I went to pick up today..

It was fine.. for about a minute!

My dad drove it out from the parking space and went to park it in another (the car has been sat for about a year so he was trying to make sure it was running properly - It was fine last time I saw it), but while he was reversing it cut out completely and hasn't turned on since..

I haven't got a clue what's wrong with it!.. My dad said he doesn't think it's the battery - we are charging it anyway - and said it might be something in the gearbox as the car will only starts in neutral or something like that?.. We rang the guy that we bought it off and he said after we went to see it the other day it did the same thing (can't believe he didn't tell us before!!).. Then he said he jiggled the gear stick about for a bit and eventually it started.

So.. does ANYONE know what this means? I did google it and I looked on here but didn't find anything that sounded similar.. I might not have looked hard enough!

Any help would be AMAZING!
