I want to buy and fit an alarm to my mini (first challenge is finding a place that will actually sell one to me without fitting it!!) - quite a basic one will do fine. Its not a daily driver but want some form of security. I already have a fuel pump switch and a switch between the ignition coil.

I dont have the interior light wired up though, I have the door plunger switches, again not wired in. I replaced the wiring loom and tied back the interior light bits. Do the alarms use the voltage drop on this circuit to set the siren off? Or do they have their own plunger / sensors?

I see lots of good words about Toad alarms on here at a decent price too which is good.

I would be cautious of putting your security features on the forum for people to see, there are lowlifes that may frequent this forum and will therefore know how to steal your mini.

Just a thought is all!
