Hi everyone! Just finished looking thru the FA-Q, and the haynes, they realy dont give you a surefire way to tackle changing this seal. I was told its real easy, could someone walk me through it? I have drums on the front, i think it matters- I was also told it can be done without disconnecting the brake lines! Thanks for the help!

What sort of diff outputs do you have, pot or crucifix ?? If the latter then you can do it without removing the hubs, but for the record, when doing it with pots...

1. support the car on axle stands and a plank of wood under the front of the floorpan.
2. remove the road wheel and the top ball joint from both axles.
3. empty the oil ! (should have done that earlier realy :D )
4. remove the pot joints from the diff, there should just be enough room.
5. remove the old seals with a pick
6. put in new seals and press home with thumbs ( should be just below the surface of the diff output end plate.
7. replace pots ( worth checking the spring clips at this time aswell ) you may need to push home the pot by relocating the hubs top joint
8. retighten the Ball joint and road wheel
9. refil with oil

Go for a drive...

then leave the car to stand, over a clean tarp or large piece of paper... wait for drips
