Morning all,

After a bit of help and advice with regards to insurance, I've been phoning around this morning as the car is at a point where I really should insure it! but i'm getting little or no joy with the companies quoted in the other threads i've searched.

The only quote I've managed to get so far is from adrian flux, which was at £850; I thought that was pretty high when looking through previous quotes in other threads!

That policy is on a volvo conversion, limited to 5,000 miles, fully comp, agreed value £25k with SDP use; I'm 31 with full no claims on another vehicle, no points or convictions etc.

Does that sound about right?

Cheers
Kev

Thanks, but unfortunately they can't cover z-car conversions :(

have you tried dropping down the value a bit

never seen a zcars conversion for sale for anywhere near that price, a quick look values them around the 15k mark

a cars value isn't what you have spent on it but what you would get for it if sold on the open market

I'd be happy if i'd only spent £25,000! I've not a seen a volvo z-car for sale and the bike engined ones that do come up are less spec'd than mine so I feel it to be a fair valuation, of course i'll look into this should prices remain high, but from previous "agreed value" insurance policies i've had it didn't make much difference; no idea why!

Thanks for the info though, might drop the miles to 3k as thats probably a more realistic figure for mee.

I thought agreed valuation was going to be loads but was only an extra £15 for me. Didnt take it though as I was trying to keep the cost as low as possible

I got mine from 2Gether Insurance. Vtec, £20k agreed value, 3000 miles, 32 with full no claims on another car an no convictions. £200. I'd have thought your should be similar.

Got mine with them now too (thanks mini type r), just over £400 with the agreed value of £25k (cost an extra £10 so a no brainer really), 3k miles a year.

Half my initial quote, but took a few calls to get through.

They seem quite good, not that I've tried to make a claim, but it's always the same person that I speak to. I was also impressed as teh premium dropped for the 2nd year I was with them.
