hi mini gurus yet another problem to report with my mini!
here go's i drained my fuel tank the other day took it off and drained all the fuel out of it as it had been stood for about a year with the same fuel in the tank, changed the fuel filter too as the old one looked a bit tired.
fueled it up about 2 days later then didnt touch it for about 3 days, came to it this morning on my day off to see if it would start.. but no luck. the main thing i have noticed is that there is not fuel in the fuel filter.. so no fuel is getting to the carb, but why is beyond me, spent about 2 mins turning the car over waiting for fuel too full the filter but nothing then my battery died >_<
i have no idea what the problem is so any help is more than useful!

my car is a 1982 city e
998cc
hs4 carb
if that helps

How much fuel did you put in?

The outlet isn't right at the bottom of the tank so put a gallon or so in

Have a look on the subframe under the fuel tank, and see behind the engine right hand side looking at it

If that doesn't work, confirm what type of pump you've got as above, also try with the filler cap off, and check for kinks in the fuel pipes!

Fuel filter? You wont see it full of petrol!! :tumble:
Your engine doesnt start, so its stone cold and you can do this test:
Detach the fuel inlet at the carb float chamber, and have a mate switching the starter on for just a couple of seconds. If fuel doesnt pour out of the pipe, you can have either a leakage somewhere or a fuel pump failure.
