Im about to build a new engine to replace my existing 850. Im building a 1293 from an a+ block and i was wondering what carb i should run? Also should i consider changing the final drive to cope with the motorways??

I would go for a nice HIFF44.

My favourite carb all day long.

Got to love the twin HS4 way. I had them on mine, the only downside is keeping the balanced. But I know the Hif44 is a good route and cheaper too.

If done right, you shouldn't need to keep balancing twins....if you do, then something's wrong.

1 1/2 is too small. Go the HIF44 route - but do 'Vizardise' it. It's a complete myth that twin carbs go 'out of tune'. Why would they ?? But i still suggest the single 44 is best.
