The sad story with this car is that the body and engine are in fantastic condition, but the gearbox is buggered

I bought the car hoping to repair the automatic gearbox, or if worse comes to the worst, convert it to a manual. Whats wrong with it is that you can be driving fine up to the fourth gear where it will not select the gear/slip. Meaning it just revs. Also, in revers the gear will not select properly, small amount of throttle can be used to control the car in reverse, unless going up the slightest incline!

Unfortunately, i dont have the cash (being a student) to pay someone to repair the box, or buy a new refurbished one. The car itself however is in remarkable condition, there is very little rust on the shell and from what the mechanic says, underneath is sound as well. The milage, being an automatic and most probably owned by a slow driving granny :mrcool:

is low at around 44700. It currently has some used minilites on it which look in good condition, but are used! The tyres look fine, and it passed an MOT not so long ago, december i believe, but due to the gearbox problem it has been SORN since around February. It has a custom dash with some nice chrome surrounds and the seats inside are in great condition (didnt like them to start, but now i want to rip them out and put them in my living room

There is a small tear under one of the sun visors, but when the visor is up you can barley see it. I am basically trying to re coup some of the money i spent on the car, but i do realise that someone with some mechanical skills (or money) would be buying it! It starts first time whenever i try it, just a pain that the gearbox doesn't work as it is a lovely car.

Obviously it would be best if the buyer came to see the car before purchase, to see that it really is in good condition. Iv'e tried to be as honest as i can, and dont want anyone to think that this is a problem free buy. I really hope somebody can find a use for this car as it looks great and im sure it would be great for someone who has any clue about mechanics :huh:
