just a quick question before I drill the hole. The plugged off bit on an SPI head (where the water heater comes off on an old head), presumably I can drill straight into the the water jacket at that pointin order to run a water pipe off it. Cheers

Yup it will be fine to drill into it, just be careful of any swarf going into the water system if the head is still on the car.
