...what would you take?

Ive got an interview tomorrow and one of the things i've been asked is " Please bring an item that you would take if stranded on a desert island".

Im not sure what to take yet, so what would you take and why?

Changed my mind. I'd take the infrastructure of a city then stay stranded and live life normally.

Duct tape is a good choice, especially after mythbusters did their episode where they made a boat and plane out of it.

I was thinking a photo of the family for determination to keep going, plus you can use the glass from the frame to reflect the light to attract boats and planes.

If it's a desert island then a Swiss Army knife might help save your life. Unlikely anyone is going to get stranded on an island with an unlimited supply of Duck tape. It's just a simple test to see if you are practically minded - a survivalist - or a dreamer who would perhaps choose to take a book of favourite poetry with him.

Cheers for that Bob, its for a tv gameshow so not sure how serious/practical the answer needs to be. Just says no "wilsons" from castaway as theres been afew of them, need something a bit more personal to us.

Satellite phone would probably be a good choice so you can call someone to pick you up. They could also pinpoint your location from the signal.

Depends what the job is. Think about how you could demonstrate you have the right mindset they are looking for. If I was asked I'd say either food, water, a boat, mobile, radio, swiss army knife, flare, something like that. More importantly say why you are taking it. To get off the island? To get help? To survive as long as possible?

They are probably just testing you to make sure you don't say your Bible
