Well they'll go on!! Sounds an odd thing to do though. BUT,as far as safety is concerned, wouldnt like to comment. Get advice from a tyre verifier or similar

Yes without much trouble, it's only when people try and stretch then onto anything larger than a 5" width they start looking very silly...
