was dring along tonight turned my lights on then the engine died :/ put the boster pack onit and started and ran fine :/ dose this mean that the alternater has given up ??

i would say so but could be your battery not holding charge iv just replaced my alternator and it turned out to be my battery

Stick a multimeter on the battery while the engine is running and see if you are getting around 14 volts or not?
