I can't get the outer part of this bushing out.
The rubber has disintergrated.
I've removed the inner piece.
I've tried punching it out but with no success. I have managed to mangle the casing slightly
Engine is in the car by the way

they are not very easy to get out, even with them out of the car and in a vice
i had to try and crush the sides in and then use a 11mm socket to go round it and hammer it out
they are hard thats all i can say but try hammering the side inwards to make it smaller

as said abouve quite hard on the car to do these little buggers are in a vice i end up knocking the centre out like you said you have already then using a deburing bit on a die grinder weaking one side of it then tap the opposite sides with punch to collapse it onto its self then it drops out.. wiether or not you have access to it enough to do this.... ?

Ive JUST dont this and what a headahce! It took me hours 
Now i've put a new one in and i can only select 4th gear
